Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life. ~Phillip C. McGraw
I found this quote on myfitnesspal.com and I think it is a true statement. I thought the same when I left IC Group that it would solve all of my work related problems but the reality was I brought me and all my issues with me. I need to find happiness in my life whether I am tall, short, skinny, fat, gray or red haired because I will still be there.
Today I found joy in the pool. I enjoyed the water aerobics and learning new things from my friend Laurie. I loved that I can jump, run, float and stretch in the pool. I did a move today where I streched my legs. I told Laurie "I feel like a ballerina". It felt good to be there. I am getting more and more confident each time I go.
I am grateful to be alive and for my many blessings. I am grateful to love and be loved. I am grateful for friends, family and Brett.
Love, Karalee

Celebrating the first step....
"You accomplish victory step by step,
not by leaps and bounds."
- Lyn St. James
Today I got back out there and walked.
I don't know how far we walked but we walked up hills and I made it.
I owe a great deal to my friend Cambree.
I am old enough to be her mother but she doesn't let me give up.
She walked beside and helped me on my way.
When I had to sit down and rest she encouraged me to get back up.
I am grateful that victory (acheivement of my goals) comes step by step
and not by amazing leaps and bounds over the tall buildings like superman.
I am grateful for that first step that was the hardest and the last step that brought me home.
Celebrating a New day....
"Every morning, when we wake up,
we have twenty-four brand-new hours to live.
What a precious gift."
~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Celebrating the rough climbs ahead....
I know that my road to a healthier me is going to be like this mountain. I have to learn to climb on and over these rocks and rough spots.
I celebrate a fresh start...a chance to begin again.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life....

Celebrate me....
"You cannot push anyone up the ladder unless he is willing to climb." - Andrew Carnegie
I am ready to climb.
Brett and I went to the swimming pool today. I jogged up the lane as he swam. I had so much fun...It was a lot better on my arch in my left foot.
I also walked home from the RS meeting and it felt really good.
I have lost 9.4 lbs since May 27th. I am so excited.

Goals
I need to remember that I don't need to force feed my goals on to everyone around me. I wish I could get that through my thick skull and quit making those I love feel bad.
I signed up for the myfitnesspal.com today. I need to take some time tommorrow to understand how it works.
Had a good walk and stairs excercise tonight. I took out the insert tonight because my left foot was hurting so bad. I hope that it makes a difference or I am taking my shoes back for a replacement. Good thing that I have a 30 day warranty on them.
Need to work on the others....
Glad tomorrow is a new day...

Determination to succeed....
Today I had the determination to succeed at my goals for this week.
I did stairs at the track and got my heart rate pumpin.
I read my scriptures and learned that when I keep the commandments I will be blessed abundantly with the spirit to be my guide.
FHE will be wednesday night.
I was feeling down tonight because Brett wasn't feeling very good after work and decided not to go walking with me. I knew I had to go whether or not he went with me. I need to excercise for me.
On the drive there I was feeling sorry for myself because my other friends were bringing their husbands. I turned the Jonas Brothers up really loud and rolled down the window and sang all the way to the track. By the time I got there I was feeling better. I missed Brett a lot tonight but I have to do this for me and keep my spirits up either way.
Thanks to Julia, Angela, Jan, Allie and Aubrie for all their encouraging words to get me out of my head and my stinkin thinkin.
Have a great day...Good luck on your goals...

Celebrating New Beginings.....
Today I am starting over with a new perspective...with a new mindset...I begin again..
I am so grateful that when we fall down we can pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, reach out to the hand that's being offered and move forward...
I am so grateful for the amazing friends and family who have been there for me this week reaching out their hands to encourage me as I struggled to get back on track. They never gave up even when I resisted. They just stood by me until I was ready to get up and go again.
My goals for this week are:
Keep track of what I am eating on myfitnesspal.com.. I want to become aware of my calorie intake..
Walk a little faster this week. Get my heart a pumpin..
Go to bed early each night because I stayed focus during the day and got my hours in.
Read my scriptures every day and have my sharing time prepared by thursday night.
Deliver the remaining maps to the parents who weren't home today..
Have FHE with Brett.
Have a date night with Brett.
I think that putting things down out of my head makes me accountable for the changes I want to make in my life.
Grateful for a new beginning. A chance to celebrate a fresh start.
What are your goals for this week? Good luck with them and remember today is a fresh start for you too.
Love, Karalee

Celebrating the 13th anniversary of our first date....July 9, 2010
This is the man that stole my heart 13 years ago. He is the kindest man I know. He loves me for me and for that I will always be grateful.
So glad I get to celebrate the 13th anniversary of our first date with him tomorrow.
I love you Brett always and forever.
Love, Karalee
Celebrating new thoughts....
"In life, you have to deal with your fear, the part of you that says, 'I can’t do it.'" ~ Chuck Close
Tonight, I got back into some stinkin thinkin about doing a project with my sisters that I didn't feel confidant in my ability to do it well. I found this quote on one of my favorite sites for quotes. I don't like or enjoy dealing with the fear when I am telling myself I can't do something.
Just something to think about.

Celebrating FIRST MILE WALK of 2010....
Do you see this woman in this picture?...Yes that's me. I walked a mile today and jogged around one end turn. Today July 3,2010 with the help of the sweetest grandma angel in a hot pink t-shirt I made it a mile.
I had decided to stop at 3/4 of mile and she said come on you can make it one more time. She said I will walk with you... She told me her story of how she started walking two years ago so that she would be able to play with her grandkids. She has lost 80 lbs. She also does the Wii fitness for those days she doesn't feel like walking or running. I also need to thank Laralynn for giving me encouragment and telling me that I could do it.
I am so grateful for the change I feel happening inside of me.
I feel alive again. I feel hopeful. I feel happy.
I made it ONE MILE TODAY!!!
DOUBLE YAHOO!!!

A quote on Joy...
I found this quote on this website..http://www.ordinarycourage.com/
I think the beauty of twinkle lights is the perfect metaphor for joy.
Joy is not a constant. It comes to us in moments - often ordinary moments. Sometimes we miss out on the bursts of joy because we are to busy chasing down the extraordinary moments. Other times we're so afraid of the dark that we don't dare let ourselves enjoy the light.
A joyful life is not a flood light of joy. That would eventually become unberable.
I believe a joyful life is made up of joyful moments gracefully strung together by trust, gratitude and inspiration. ~ Brene` Brown
I think this is a beautiful quote and I wanted to have it so I can remember it.
